In case you’ve been sleeping, 21 Savage, Offset, & Metro Boomin decided to send shockwaves throughout the internet Monday night when they announced that they had a joint album dropping at midnight called Without Warning, and alas they were right. The 10 track album was released right on time on iTunes & all digital platforms, featuring two guest appearances from Quavo & Travis Scott.
Looking to highlight one of the records, which in itself was tough to do, we figured it’s only right we share the intro track with Travis Scott called “Ghostface Killers,” which is a reference to the legendary Wu-Tang member.
Going in over the sinister beat from Metro Boomin, Offset, who handles the opening verse & chorus, switches up his flow & shows off his signature triple time rhyme scheme, boasting about his icy jewelry & having shooters by his side in the process. “Automatic, automatics, in the trunk/ Shoot the maggots, shoot the maggots with the pump,” he spits on the hook.
Meanwhile, 21 chimes in for the second verse, and raps about still hanging out with the killers & gorillas with the AK’s on the block, before Travis Scott & his auto-tune laced vocals reference some drug use & being a “Nike” boy. “Nike boys, we don't do three stripes (yeah),” Travis spits, who’s obviously referring to his recent deal with Nike, which will find him getting his own Air Force 1 shoe (see here).
The track serves as the first time Travis Scott & just Offset have linked up on a record together. La Flame recently linked up with 21 Savage on the song “Outside,” off last year’s Birds In The Trap Sing McKnight project, but never with just Offset or all three for that matter.
Available on iTunes, take a listen to the intro track of Without Warning and let us know what you think! Who had the hardest/best verse?
Quotable Lyrics:
Automatic, automatics, in the trunk
Shoot the maggots, shoot the maggots with the pump
Got an attic, got a Patek on my arm
We got static, pussy nigga run your charm
Ghostface killers, Wu-Tang, 21 news gang
Drug dealers in the Mulsanne, at the top of the food chain
Trappin' the cocaine, no gang, shooter with no name
We can play toll games with the whole gang, kick in your door man
