Roy Woods links up with Lil Yachty and Swae Lee on his new single "Afterparty."

Roy Woods has come a long way since we first discovered him by way of his record "I Got" three years ago (which is still very dope, by the way, if you're not familiar with it). At that time, he was just another relatively unknown singer from Toronto, crafting his skillset and sound, echoes of the popular sounds around his city influencing his vibe, as is distinct on "I Got." Since that first song, we conducted his first-ever interview (good times, read that here), and from there, things quickly started to take off -- we maintained support along the way, featuring him heavily in our now-defunct Underrated Audio series, premiering records like "Talk to Me," you get the idea. Now, he's an official OVO signee, with a highly anticipated debut album in the works, and a single that features two of the hottest guest spot-artists currently, Lil Yachty and Swae Lee. What a time.

FrancisGotHeat, who is quickly cementing his own name in the rap game, definitely a producer you should take notice of, is behind the boards on this fervent r'n'b-tinged banger. Roy Woods delivers a fast-paced hook to match the urgency of the beat, layering his melodies to create an immersive effect. It's a night out type of record, with Roy detailing the drug-addled adventures that he and his girl (and, maybe your girl too) are getting up to. Even Lil Yachty's feature cannot bring this song down (!). It's definitely a strong single to lead the album with, although he's been littering the web with various freestyles and loose cuts lately to drum up hype for Say Less, this is the most exciting record he's dropped yet. Perhaps, obviously.

Take a listen and let us know what you think. Stay tuned for more information on the release of Say Less too.
