Young M.A is currently having one of the more interesting runs in hip-hop at the moment. Having exploded onto music scene last year with her chart-topping single “Ooouu,” Young M.A. soared to mainstream success in a matter of weeks, and became an instant household name in the game. However, since the release of “Ooouuu,” the Brooklyn rapper has yet to duplicate, or even come close to that success, and still hasn't been able to build enough buzz or hype to drop off her long awaited debut album. Back in April, Young M.A sat down with us at HNHH and said her debut album would be more of a story line of her & things. “From the struggles to the good days know what I mean?” she added. “I just want to prove to people that I definitely can make a body of work," (see below).
While we’ve been in the dark about its release or when we could expect to hear it, Young M.A decides to come through today and make up for it by holding us over in the meantime with a new song & accompanying video called “Walk.”
Going in over production from 1Mind (“Unforgettable“) and DJ Burn One, Young M.A delivers a short, monotone record that finds her “talking” her bars rather than spitting them. However, the beat is pretty harrowing, and her flow is pretty laid back for the most part, boasting about her icy jewelry & addressing the haters in the process. Fans of hers should definitely appreciate it to say the least.
Following up August’s “Same Set,” it’s unclear if this “Walk” record will be part of any upcoming project or not, but we’ll definitely take it. The video itself finds Young MA smoking a blunt and rapping her bars from the studio.

Quotable Lyrics:
They was tryna get me, they was tryna get me out
Like y'all don't know what I'm about
Y'all do it for the clout
The streets like "where you at?"
I told niggas I'm en route
I was working at the house in the stool
Sleepin' on the couch, tryna figure out..
