The opener of "I Still Am" gets the visual treatment.

Wasting no time following the debut of his ninth studio album, I Still Am, Yo Gotti returns to deliver the visuals for the project opening track “betrayal.” Directed by Cloudkicka Films, the new clip doesn’t deviate too far from the standard formula of a beautiful woman and plenty of foreign whips as Gotti goes off on the imposters that turned on him in the end.

The clip is rather understated—no crazy plot, no wild theatrics—as it accomplishes its purpose in relaying the track’s message. “Double cross, double cross / They killed my lil partner, it's another loss,” he lets off in a rather relaxed cadence. “It's murder on my mind, I got bloody thoughts /I hope none of these niggas come piss me off.”

Recently, Gotti appeared on the Breakfast Club to address a rumored conflict he’s been dealing with outside of the booth, and went on to reveal that the beef he’s got with Young Dolph is pretty much nonexistent, even showing off the last text message he ever sent to the fellow Memphis artist.

“That’s how you gotta approach this shit homie, just gotta stay down and make the right decisions and you can win big,” it read. “You in a good space in Memphis. but you gotta take that shit from there to the world and it’s gon’ turn into money. I like your grind my nigga; when I was in your position, none of them niggas who could’ve helped me did. Our city fucked up and I’m trying to stop letting history repeat itself and show niggas we can get money together and everybody be on some boss shit.”

In the interview, Gotti attempted to get it out that there really was no pressure on his side despite his rumored involvement in two highly-publicized attempts on Dolph’s life. The most recent of which left him hospitalized after suffering several gunshot wounds. Nonetheless, looks like Gotti’s trying to move past it, celebrating such a lengthy and influential career and yet another Platinum track in “Rake It Up.”
