There were quite a few guest spots on Drake's More Life "playlist," but only not many of them were granted a song to themselves. Sampha's "4422" was one of those rare exceptions, shifting the mood of the project with a tender piano-led ballad. Whether or not inspired by his More Life contribution, Sampha covered a Drake song during his BBC Radio 1 "Live Lounge" appearance.
The performance finds the singer transforming the dancehall pop song with a stripped-down piano-and-vocals arrangement. That is, until a string quartet adds some dynamic swells to the cover.
Watch the performance above. Sampha previously worked with Drake on Nothing Was The Same's "Too Much." He released his debut solo album Process earlier this year.
