SZA has had herself quite the year so far, with her album Ctrl rising above the glut of new hip-hop and R&B albums that have been released this year to become both a fan favorite and critical darling. Leading the charge behind the LP's success has been the single "Love Galore," which gets an assist from soon-to-be Kardashian baby daddy Travis Scott. The track was certified platinum in September and continues to be a mainstay on urban radio as well as key streaming service playlists that focus on the best in R&B. However, the lyrics that you hear on "Love Galore" aren't necessarily what was originally planned, at least if SZA's latest Instagram video post is to be believed.
The clip, which has garnered a ton of views on the social media platform thus far, showcases the talented singer dancing around to "Love Galore," but if you listen closely, the lyrics she's lip synching to sound way different than what's on the original single. That's because she's grooving along to an unreleased verse, presumably lyrics that were left on the cutting room floor during the editing and/or mastering process. It may also be possible that, to make room for the Travis feature, some of SZA's writing had to fall by the wayside in this case. Whatever the reason, she unearthed the forgotten verse and shared with her fans, who promptly began to inquire whether or not we'd be seeing a remix of "Love Galore" with this unreleased verse inserted back into the track. No official word has come from SZA or her label with regard to a potential remix, but it seems like a maneuver that would be welcomed by the masses, especially considering how well Cardi B's remix to "Bodak Yellow" has done with her fan base.
Meanwhile, SZA continues to bring some catchy new music to the table, recently collaborating with Maroon 5 on the pop crossover "What Lovers Do." She also delighted fans who came out to see her in Los Angeles a couple of weeks ago by bringing Kendrick Lamar out on stage with her to perform their Ctrl track "Doves in the Wind."
