Toronto's Blacka Da Don has been off the radar for a minute, seemingly cooking something up for all to hear. Today he shows us what he's been working on with the premiere of his latest track "Sriracha" accompanied by some visuals.
In over three minutes, we see Blacka with a table full of Chinese food and some ladies by his side helping him chow down on some fried rice, spring rolls and chow mein. The rest of the video sees Blacka hitting the Toronto streets of China town locking down the moves to his beat. The obligatory CN Tower view is shown at the end of the video, repping his city.
Blacka starts the intro off with some spoken words getting us ready for the drop: "She called me sriracha/ She said I'm her favourite sauce/ She chose on a nigga/ She know I been a boss/ My nigga's winnin'/ We had to take a loss/ I got the flavour/ I got the paper/ I am sriracha sauce"
He tells HNNH that the song came together naturally the second he hit the studio. "The song was inspired by my love for the combination of Chinese food and Sriracha Sauce," he explains. "As soon as we got in the studio that day and I heard the Asian sounding sample at the beginning of the song, it just kinda came to me ... 'I took her to Chinatown, cuz she like Chinese food' as soon as I came up with that line I could tell by the looks on everybody's face, I had something dope on my hands."
One of Blacka's last video drops was for his track "Doin Tingz." The video was all about getting out of warehouse work and making moves to rake in more money. He said the track itself was inspired by his "lifestyle growing up" and experiences he's been through.
