Krept & Konan have been a highlight out of the UK for a few years now. Once they dropped their record "Don't Waste My Time," they officially made their entrance into the North American market. Despite the fact that Grimes popularity in America has only grown in recent times, they were some of the first to help the wave of the genre reach across the pond. Earlier today, they dropped two mixtapes 7 Days & 7 Nights. While the former is an ode to their grime style, the latter has much more of an R&B feel to it. One of the major cuts off of 7 Days is "Ask Flipz" featuring grime-star, Stormzy.
All three of them go ham on this track. It's a bar heavy joint that wastes no time. All three emcees trade bars back and forth over some production provided from Adotskitz. It has more of a trappier tone to it but it still comes through with the same type of fast flows and delivery as grime. It's another dope venture for Krept & Konan as well as Stormzy. Stormzy's been one of the most talked about grime artists this past year so to see him link up with Krept & Konan for another joint is dope.
The track was delivered with a visual as well. The three emcees are seen inside of a luminant warehouse where they go back and forth, highlighting what they do best. They bring some friends along for cameos throughout it as well. They bring out the Section Boyz as well as Abra Cadabra for brief appearances in the video. While the song is filled with high-energy, the visuals is just as amped.
Quotable Lyrics
Free up my bros in the cell
When I give stamps, I open the mail
If I get the west in, I'm not phoning the girl
Had your WCW holding my belt (Behave)
