Joey Bada$$ already wowed us with his take on Future's "Mask Off," and he's back with another impressive freestyle over an early Miguel track. After proving he can destroy a Metro Boomin beat, Joey gets back into his boom-bap comfort zone on the Power 106 appearance.
We can't help but wonder whether these bars are set to appear on Joey's upcoming sophomore album ALL-AMERIKKAN BADA$$, which is set to arrive on April 7th. "This is not even breakfast bars, this is Patron bars," he jokes at the end of his verse.
Bada$$ may have some new competition for his release date, as Kendrick Lamar has hinted that his next project will be dropping on the same day. "You know what time it is / Ante up, this is here forever / Ya’ll got til April the 7th to get ya’ll shit together,” he rapped at the close of "The Heart Part 4," a new track released last Friday.
Joey recently described his upcoming LP as "the most important hip-hop album in a long time." It's set to feature guest appearances from J. Cole and ScHoolboy Q. April 7th should be a big day.
