Tennis superstar Roger Federer recently linked up with Complex's Joe La Puma at Stadium Goods in New York City for a brand new episode of "Sneaker Shopping" which included some talk about Federer's current favorite sneakers as well as his own Air Jordan collab.
In speaking of his Air Jordan partnership, the 19 time Grand Slam champion revealed what it was like to work with the legendary Tinker Hatfield and how the brand allowed him to choose exactly which Air Jordan signature he wanted to work with. The result of Federer's Air Jordan collab was the Nike Zoom Vapor RF x AJ3, which recently released in a "Fire Red" colorway in addition to the previously released "White Cement" and "Black Cement" designs. There are also rumors that a "True Blue" inspired colorway of Federer's Air Jordan 3 hybrid is on tap for October as well.
Also in the episode, Federer talks about the influence that tennis icons John McEnroe and Andre Agassi had on him, and how his dad once left him at the tennis courts as a kid to teach him a lesson. At the end of his visit to Stadium Goods, the 36-year old tennis legend walked out with $5,185.72 worth of kicks, including the "Linen" Air Force 1 Low, the "Concord" and "Space Jam" Air Jordan 11s, "Banned" Air Jordan 1s, "Metallic Red" Foamposites, the Acronym x Nike Air Presto collab, "South Beach" Nike LeBron 7s and Gary Payton's Air Zoom Flight "The Glove" QS.
Federer advanced to the U.S. Open Quarterfinals over the weekend with a win over #33 seed Philipp Kohlschreiber, and will now take on Juan Martin del Potro. If Federer is able to pick up another victory in the Quarterfinals we could be looking at a U.S. Open Semifinals showdown in the next round between he and longtime rival Rafael Nadal.
