Listen to Jessie Reyez's new song "Phone Calls."

After breaking out onto the music scene last year with her song “Figure,” Toronto singer Jessie Reyez has been on a meteoric path to success ever since, collaborating with Chance The Rapper, Calvin Harris and others. Having been relatively quiet since dropping off her Kiddo EP back in April, with exception to last month’s “Great One” video, Jessie looks to keep the momentum going by returning to the scene today with a new song called “Phone Calls.”

In between showing off her raw vocals & impressive bars, Jessie reflects on her come up in the game and raps about the haters who were late to notice her success but are now dick riding on her bandwagon. “A lot of these dick riders Finn change, I don't even got one Im getting brains/ I don't even got one now Im getting rating, bitch you just a little late,” Jessie spits.

During a new interview on BBC Radio 1's Annie Mac, Jessie says the song was written as an answer to the ones who started to act differently around her as she gained success. It's about…"respecting people that were down with me from the beginning. People that didn't really have anything to gain or people that just had faith to have faith. People that were riders just to be riders,” she said.

Highlighted by Jessie’s raw vocals & slick bars, “Phone Calls” is another strong addition to the. Columbia singer’s growing catalogue of records. No word yet as for where this will end up, but hopefully there’s more on the way or better yet a project for that matter.

If you wish to see Jessie live in person you’re in luck, the Toronto singer is about to hit the road with OVO crooner PartyNextDoor on his “Infinity” Tour. Peep tour dates for that right here if interested.

Quotable Lyrics:

Why you always gotta be like that, like that?
Trust issues, man, my bad, my back's
Got stab wounds in it, my bad my past's
Got snake one's in it, fucked by my last
I'm just tryna get where my family's at
If I die soon, no asthma attack
