Trade rumors are ripe at the start of this NBA off-season and we haven't even reached the NBA Draft yet.
While much of the trade talk thus far has surrounded Paul George, Jimmy Butler and most recently, Kristaps Porzingis, there are also rumors regarding Kyrie Irving.
For one, the Cavs recently decided not to offer an extension to GM David Griffin, who was unwilling to deal Kyrie, opening the door for speculation that he could be on the trading block.
LeBron wants Kyrie to stay, but owner Dan Gilbert reportedly didn't consult with King James before parting ways with Griffin. Read into that however you'd like.
Additionally, it appears Kyrie is going to push for a trade if LeBron opts out of his contract with the Cavs following next season.
A report from the Chicago Sun-Times reads,
"All-Star Kyrie Irving has been contacting some of his former Team USA teammates and letting them know that he might be willing to push for a trade, especially if he feels the Cavs’ run could end quickly with James able to opt out after next season."
"Through back channels, Chicago would be one of the places that Irving would be interested to play."
Of course, these are all just rumors as of now, albeit juicy ones, that should be taken with a grain of salt.
