Ludacris' label Disturbing Tha Peace has been pretty slow on the releases as of late, but the label is still around. So when a Texas couple began to use Disturbing The Peace for their audio equipment and recording business, Luda's feathers were clearly ruffled.
Luda has filed a suit against Demetri and Donna Evans-Brown this month for illegally using the copyrighted name. This follows a lawsuit from that same couple claiming it's Ludacris who is infringing on their trademark phrase, "Disturb The Peace." However, now Ludacris claims that he's owned the copyright to DTP since 2003, and using the name will mislead customers into believing he is involved with them and their marketing campaign.
Ludacris has asked a judge to have the couple immediately stop using the trademark, while suing for damages and attorney's fees. We'll keep you posted on the outcome.
