The numbers are in and it looks like Lil Uzi Vert has landed himself the #1 album this week with Luv Is Rage 2. According to Hits Double Daily, Uzi’s official debut album sold an impressive 125,687 units in its opening week, while rising soundcloud sensation XXXTENTACION came in second behind him with 85,739 albums sold for 17. Of Uzi’s 125K units sold, 28K were traditional album sales, while XXXTentacion moved around 17,000 physical copies.
However, those two weren’t the only artists to release important projects last Friday. The A$AP Mob also released the sequel to their Cozy Tapes series, & Action Bronson released the long awaited Blue Chips 7000. While the Mob saw an increase in sales from last time around, Action didn’t do too well. Cozy Tapes 2 reportedly sold 39,692 units this past week and landed the #7 spot, whereas Action Bronson’s Blue Chip 7000 only moved 11,635 copies.
In comparison, ASAP Mob’s first compilation project, Cozy Tapes, sold 21K copies & Action’s 2015 album Mr. Wonderful moved 43K units, which is quite a bit of a drop off to 11K.
For what it’s worth, Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN is still doing well on the charts, and landed the #4 spot with over 51K units, while Logic saw an added push in sales following his emotional performance of "1-800-273-8255" at the VMA's. His Everybody album sold an impressive 33K this week.
The #3 spot overall this week went to rock band Queens Of The Stone Age, whose Matador album sold 72K copies & streams.
