Metro Boomin has clarified his recent comment on his project with Future being "the ultimate album." He says that his remark, which stems from an interview with Complex, lacks proper context. Instead, Metro says he intended to imply that an "ultimate album" would sound like the one he's working on with Future.
“The ultimate project right now is about to be the one with me and Future,” Complex quoted Metro as having said. “Now that Spider-Man is out and people are loving and resonating with it, my focus can go to what me and Pluto got coming out. I’m not doing anything until that gets done.”
Metro Boomin Performs With Future
Metro later addressed the quote in a post on Twitter, Sunday. “I never called me and Future album ‘the ultimate album’,” he wrote. “I was asked what would an ultimate sound like if I were to make one and I said like the one me and Future doing. This is why I don’t really do press or interviews often.. we just let the work speak.”
Metro has been teasing his upcoming effort with Future for months at this point. The two have worked together in the past on hits including “Mask Off,” “Honest,” “Wicked,” “Where Ya At,” and “Jumpman." However, Metro was noticeably absent from Future's latest project, I Never Liked You. Metro later explained this was because they knew they had a joint album on the way and decided to save music for that.
Metro Boomin Addresses The "Complex" Interview
Further explaining why he's focused on his album with Future, Metro also told Complex: “It’s tunnel vision on that one because I was spreading myself thin between Heroes & Villains, Spider-Man, Coachella, and still shooting videos for Heroes. But now the focus is on this album and we’ve been working.”
