Gucci Mane dropped a timeless joint in "Lemonade."

Gucci Mane is one of the game's most iconic, long-lasting, and let's be honest, badass rappers. With twelve major label albums and a seemingly infinite supply of mixtapes, few have amassed such a steady collection of material. And the crazy thing is, he seems to be getting even better with age; Guwop latest project, the excellent Droptopwop, finds the East Atlanta Santa at his most lyrically focused, rhyming over some of Metro Boomin's finest work to date. And while 2017 is shaping up to be a prolific year for Gucci, with an upcoming marriage, a chart-topping autobiography, and yet another album dropping next week, it feels right to look back on one of his more notable bangers.

Lemonade was a popular drink, and still is, so it's appropriate that the undisputed Gucci classic remains as fresh today as it did back in 2009. With an infectious and commercially appealing piano-driven instrumental from Bangladesh, "Lemonade" quickly cemented itself as one of Gucci's illest cuts. The song spawned a whole wealth of remixes, with efforts from Bun BYelawolf, Curren$y, Big Sean, Tyler, The CreatorEarl Sweatshirt, Action Bronson, Stat Quo, Kyle and Joell Ortiz to name a few.

What makes the track so timeless is the way Gucci effortlessly dominates the instrumental, delivering boss-level lyrics only he can pull off: "Lemonade diamond bracelet, put it in your face, lemonhead diamond earrings I wore yesterday, I'm pimping wearing lemon, that's just how I'm chilling, I'm smoking grits and selling chickens, Corvette painted lemons."

While it's always nice to look back on an artist's prime, Gucci's second wind is nothing short of remarkable. Mr. Davis is set to drop on October 13th, and if it continues where Droptopwop left off, there should be at least one or two joints that come close to "Lemonade's" caliber.

Quotable Lyrics

I got lemonade and lemon-tint, lemons watch me mix the shit
Lemonade-complexion East-Australian girl be killing me
She say I be killing her, I say I be feeling it
Four days then I'm sick of her cause her brain is lemonhead
