Austin barely survived the supertornado that was SXSW 2017. HNHH caught up with A$AP Ferg, Denzel Curry, CyHi the Prynce, Saba and Pivot Gang, Kodie Shane, Trill Sammy, Joey Purp, Kweku Collins and DJ Boathouse, KAMI, & Ta'East down in the torrid Texas winter and asked them to dish on SXSW essentials and favorite and least favorite aspects of the festival.
Many of these artists agreed that deodorant, weed, and portable phone charger are necessary to survive SXSW. KAMI advocated for the pink denim jackets. "White folks, you gotta put that sunscreen on," said Joey Purp.
Kweku Collins had the most positive outlook on the festival out of everybody we talked to. "I just love how everybody's here," he said. "Everybody from all walks of life are just in the same shithole. Yeah, it's dope!"
KAMI shared the following story from a past SXSW: "It was Danny Brown's birthday and he was fucked up... he was like, 'I'm gonna do a push-up for every year I turn!' And then he does like 150 push-ups. I'm like, what's going on here? How old is this nigga?"
