Drake released "Search & Rescue" in April 2023. While the song peaked at #2 on the Billboard Hot 100, it also received something of a cool reception. Many people see it as a fairly mid song, while Drake die-hards either love it or argue that it's a song that grows on you. The song is most a Drake solo feature, with the exception of a random bridge from Kim Kardashian and Kris Jenner. However, that wasn't always the case.
It's been a pretty great year for Lil Durk. His single, "All My Life ft. J. Cole" is currently #4 on the Billboard Hot 100. Furthermore, the song has nearly 75.5 million streams on Spotify at the time of writing. Elsewhere, his new album Almost Healed debuted at #3 on the Billboard 200. However, it turns out that Lil Durk was supposed to feature on "Search & Rescue", but his verse was ultimately cut. The audio of that verse has now leaked on the internet.
Lil Durk Verse Contained Pee-Drinking Reference
While the cut verse is lengthy, there's one part in particular that's raising eyebrows. Per Genius, at around the midpoint of the verse, Durk says "I'm worse than Kevin Gates, I'm me (Yeah, yeah)/India know I'm down to drink pee (Woah, woah, woah, I-I-I)/OP, mix it with the lean (Yeah, yeah)." According to these lyrics, Durk cops to drinking urine, just like self-professed watersports (and TMI Instagram connoisseur) Kevin Gates. In fact, Durk goes as far as to say that he mixes his wife's urine into his lean. The "OP" reference is a little unclear but whether it's "over-proof" or "overpowered", Durk appears to be saying that his wife's urine hits hard.
In regard to how people have responded to the leak, it's mostly confusion. Of course, there's had a handful of detractors representing the increasingly Puritan societal norms of the modern world. Meanwhile, there is a number of people who think the verse actually makes the song better. However, the general consensus is just mild confusion. After all, it's not like it's a video of Lil Durk drinking his wife's urine. It's just three lines in a 24-line verse. Despite this, it's clear that it's probably not the vibe Drake was going for on the track.
