Key!'s new project drops later this summer but he just gave us the first taste.

KEY! has dropped the first taste of his upcoming new album. After debuting the song at his last Late Night Church Service show it dropped this week. The track is a hard-hitting trap banger with subtle gospel touches in the instrumental. It also sports a guest spot from fellow Atlanta rapper Tony Shhnow. KEY!'s new album Marquis doesn't have a release date yet but it's expected to arrive later this summer. The song is KEY!'s first new single of the year so far, though he has appeared on some other tracks including one with Thundercat.

The album will join a massive discography of mixtapes and albums KEY! has been grinding out for years. His most recent full-length release came out late last year with S.B.I. The project was a 7-track collaboration with El Jubo. His most substantial recent release was 2021's The Alpha Jerk. The record is a collaboration with Tony Seltzer which featured one of Key!'s biggest songs "My Puppy." His biggest album is 2018's 777 a full-length collaboration with Kenny Beats. Since the project was released though, the pair seem to have gotten caught up in some beef.

Key! Returns In Time For Summer

KEY! has made some high-profile appearances in the past. He's made appearances on songs on both of the A$AP Mob's Cozy Tapes series. Similarly, he appears on Dreamville's Revenge Of The Dreamers III compilation. He was praised by fans for his standout verse on Skepta's "Redrum" from his 2019 album Ignorance Is Bliss. He's also appeared on albums from ILOVEMAKONNEN, Raury, 03 Greedo, Guapdad 4000, and many more.

One of KEY!'s most poetic moments as an artist came on his 2019 song "When X Died." In the lyrics of the track, he imagines how big XXXTENTACION could have been if he wasn't tragically murdered. It came right after he took on the beat from Ski Mash The Slump God's "Foot Fungus" with his own freestyle. What do you think of KEY!'s new song and how excited are you for his new album? Let us know the answer to both questions in the comments below.

Quotable Lyrics:

Life's a trip, ain't it?
If you can trip off life, I need a hit, ain't it?
If you got more than one life, is you a cat, n***a?
I don't know who they is, but I am that n***a
