2 Chainz is mourning the loss of his French bulldog, Trappy.

2 Chainz announced the passing of his French bulldog, Trappy, on Instagram, Monday afternoon. In the candid post, the Atlanta rapper admitted that he's "crushed" by the news. In doing so, he shared several photos and videos of the late dog.

"Can’t believe im even saying this man im crushed like a mf man this my heart right here," 2 Chainz wrote. "I have had @trappygoyard for 9 years we have traveled and kicked it all over the world and he is no longer here mannn. Shit hurt me no cap. Feel like a person passed away. I love my dog he was so smart and laid back!! I have so many items and memories of Trappy. Can’t believe I won’t hear you snoring no more. I know for a fact we influenced many people to try to get a dog that looked and acted like you. It could never be another Trappy that’s was so sad to me. I l loved my dog more than some people I know #restinpeace @trappygoyard."

Plenty of fans joined in Chainz's mourning in the comments section. Mike Will Made It wrote: "Damn RIP my boy Trappy man!" Other fans shared heart and prayer hands emojis.

2 Chainz bought Trappy from a breeder back in 2015. In the years since, Trappy's been a staple in Chainz's Most Expensive S**t series, as well as in social media posts and interviews. He even centered the music video for his song, "Grey Area," around Trappy. The song was featured on the tracklist to Chainz's 2020 album, So Help Me God!

As for new music, 2 Chainz recently appeared on the soundtrack to Spider-Man: Across The Spider-Verse. He's featured on the song, "Givin' Up (Not the One)," alongside Don Toliver and 21 Savage. The film as a whole is getting rave reviews and currently boasts a 95% rating on Rotten Tomatoes.
