Snoop Dogg recently appeared on a podcast, where the rapper discussed some of his opinions on the NBA. He revealed to The Pivot Podcast who he believed to be the top 5 Los Angeles Lakers of all time. Fans quickly noticed that one important name wasn't on his list- LeBron James.
"Let's run it down," Snoop began. He then told a host that his picks were listed in no particular order, telling him, "You can put 'em where you want 'em at." "Kareem Abdul-Jabbar — formerly known as Lou Alcindor until Malcolm got ahold of ’em," he lists. "Magic ‘Earvin’ Johnson out of East Lansing. Do you understand me? Kobe ‘Jellybean’ Bryant. Oh lord, it’s finna get hard. Shaquille ‘The Real Deal’ O’Neal," he continued. Snoop then deliberated on who his final pick would be, saying, "It ain’t none of them new guys. They ain’t done enough.” He then shared some of his favorites, Jerry West, Michael Cooper and James Worthy, before saying, “I’ma go with Wilt The Stilt!" "He averaged 50 points a game, man,” Snoop explained, “This before cameras — he probably had 70.”
Snoop Says Newer Players "Ain't Done Enough"
Last month, Snoop celebrated the Lakers' win against the Memphis Grizzlies. He shared his excitement with his social media followers, even giving the LA team a new nickname. “We got United Nations over here," he began. He added, "We got Asians, white boys, — boy, we cold!" "The Lakers got a cold squad, baby. We on it like we want it. Ay Bubba, let me hear from ya, punk. Lakers in six, punk,” his Instagram post continued.
Earlier this month, Snoop also shared with fans that he's interested in becoming an NHL owner. “Amazing what @neko_sparks is trying to do in Ottawa & I’m looking forward to being apart of that ownership team. I WANNA BRING HOCKEY TO OUR COMMUNITY,” he wrote alongside a photo of film producer Neko Sparks next to the Ottawa Senators.
