Just because A$AP Bari doesn’t rap doesn’t mean he’s riding off the success of fellow A$AP Mob members A$AP Rocky and A$AP Ferg. The man-behind-the-scenes has found success in his VLONE brand, which has become a coveted label among rap’s rising stars and has collaborated with Virgil Abloh’s Off-White. In a new interview with French fashion magazine Dull, A$AP Bari revealed he has even bigger plans for the budding streetwear brand.
In the interview, Bari reveals he wasn’t always about his fashion. His original interests were “music first, then food, and now clothes.” He points to his Harlem roots and his uncle who taught him to cook as a young age as inspiration for why he wants to create “a VLONE barber shop, A VLONE cafe.” He even (perhaps jokingly) suggests he will create a “VLONE parfait.”
Citing A Bathing Ape create Nigo as his inspiration, Bari goes deeper into his passion for cooking, his recent collaboration with Nike and more in the interview. Grab a copy of Dull magazine, which drops in-store today, to read the full interview.
