Vic Mensa infamously called out Akademiks on "Everyday Struggle."

Vic Mensa infamously got into a feud with DJ Akademiks back in 2017 during an appearance on Everyday Struggle. Overall, the beef was about Akademiks and his coverage of the Chicago drill scene. His War In Chiraq channel was heavily criticized at the time for its role in perpetuating violence in the city. Although Akademiks felt he had a right to report on what was happening, Mensa felt the opposite. Mostly, he just thought Akademiks was being incredibly disrespectful and that it was all "cowardice."

However, it appears as though Vic Mensa isn't concerned with this beef anymore. Recently, he appeared on Sway In The Morning here he offered up a freestyle. During this freestyle, he explained some of his past feuds. Whether it be Drake, Akademiks, XXXTentacion, Mensa made sure to address it. Moreover, once he was done spitting bars, he revealed how he talked it out with the likes of Drake and others. Although, Ak is still someone he hasn't sat down with. Regardless, he is most certainly open to it.

Vic Mensa Is Ready To Move On

“Akademiks is one person that I have not spoken to," Vic Mensa explained. "But I’m at the space where I don’t got room in my spirit for no beef, no problems with nobody. I’m beyond that. So, I’ma sit down with Akademiks. I’ll go on his show and speak to him. Because me and Akademiks’ thing, it was really more ideological too.” Whether or not Akademiks will be up for this, remains to be seen. At the time, Akademiks was a staunch Vic Mensa hater, and that probably hasn't changed.

The Start Of The Feud

That said, Akademiks has done some amazing work with his Off The Record podcast. He continues to interview massive artists, including those who used to hate him. That said, we could very well see a potential reunion between these two, in the future. Let us know what you think of Mensa's remarks, in the comments section below.
