New Balance 550 x Aime Leon Dore "Green"
When New Balance and Aime Leon Dore teamed up, fans knew it was going to be something special. However, no one could have imagined they would have knocked it out of the park this hard. Originating in 1989, the 550 was actually a performance basketball shoe. That said, the 2020 rerelease with ALD was more about lifestyle and casual wear. The green colorway was an amazing homage to the original line, and consequently, fans were hooked. To this day, the New Balance 550 x Aime Leon Dore line remains beloved by sneakerheads.
Joe Freshgoods x 990V3 "Outside Clothes
Chicago designer Joe Freshgoods has worked with New Balance quite a bit in the past. Although they have created some great shoes together, it would be his "Outside Clothes" 990V3 that truly grabs our attention. Overall, this mostly has to do with just how vibrant this sneaker is. Typically, you wouldn't say that when the vast majority of a shoe is covered in brown suede. However, this model also contains blue mesh all throughout the silhouette, and there is even some blue on the midsole. Lastly, the pops of green on the tongue and back heel really turn these into instant classics.
New Balance 990 V6 "Action Bronson Baklava
Action Bronson is a popular rapper who has worn many hats throughout his career. Of course, one of those would be a chef's hat. He loves to cook and has had numerous shows about the topic. Additionally, he is an aficionado when it comes to the world of sneakers. He loves his lifestyle models, so it made sense for him to get his own New Balance 990 V6. Dubbed "Action Bronson Baklava, this model is quite colorful. Starting from the bottom up, we have a blue midsole followed by brown material that goes all the way around the silhouette. From there, pink, silver, and green grace the upper. Lastly, some pink can be found peaking out of the laces. If you love Action Bronson, you will love these.
Bodega x 997S "No Days Off"
Boston sneaker boutique Bodega has come through with a lot of great collaborations with a plethora of brands. Although, their work with New Balance always seems to hit different. The New Balance 997S turned out to be the perfect canvas for their genius. The "No Days Off" colorway, seen above, has it all. There are grey patches of suede on the sides as well as at the toe box. Moreover, we get some light blue on the toe box, as well as the back heel. From there, green, red, and black are used sparingly. Lastly, this is not your typical silhouette, and if you want something different, these are for you.
New Balance 990 V2 x Salehe Bembury "Sand Be The Time"
Lastly, we bring you a collaboration between Salehe Bembury and New Balance on the 990 V2. Overall, Bembury is one of the best designers in the sneaker world today. The above colorway called "Sand Be The Time" is certainly proof of that. As is made evident by the name, this is a shoe that contains some references to the great outdoors. The suede all throughout the upper has this clay peach aesthetic to it. Furthermore, we get a purple New Balance logo on the side, which pairs nicely with the brown midsole. When you put all of this together, you get a shoe that Bembury and NB should be proud of.
