"It's alright to wanna get paid and not be stuck around the hood."

The Los Angeles, South Central rapper, G Perico, comes by the HNHH studio to talk a number of topics that resonate with the "Power" rapper.

G Perico says he's decided to stay independent because he has "a problem with authority."

"What inspired me was pretty much a lack of options. I might as well start my own shit because anywhere that probably would have fucked with me at the time, or even right now, or give me a situation where I get to go get myself hot in the streets or on the net or whatever. I just see a lot of artists get signed but don't no music ever come out because they want a hit song."

"Me staying independent, I can just put out music," he adds.

His April album drop, All Blue, is a 13-track project that straight up means being content and in a "state of mind.

"When I'm all blue that means everything good, when it's a beautiful day outside its a clear blue sky," he says.

When it comes to the rappers dream collaboration, he says "probably Jay-Z because he from back in the day but he still tight." But overall he would love to collaborate with the "Smooth Operator" singer Sade saying, "we could just hang out and talk that shit."

For what's next, G says he's working on a few things with different ideas for different projects. "I represent for the modern day gangsta, you know what I mean, out to get rich, I'm representing for you. It's alright to wanna get paid and not be stuck around the hood."

In recent news, G has joined forces with Compton based rapper Jay Worthy and acclaimed Texas-via-Minnesota producer Cardo to form their new crew G-Worthy. We recently shared their first track, "Never Miss," as the first single off their upcoming album set to drop this Friday. The track is exactly as they described it to be, "late night mobbin" music that is truly inspired by the west-coast.

Check out G in the exclusive video and tell us what you guys think of him joining forces with Jay Worthy and Cardo.
