The artist says podcasts have devolved.

Musician and actor Ice-T jumped on Twitter last week to warn other artists about appearing on podcasts. He shared a Tweet that reads, "Artist Public Service: Doing Interviews can be risky if you Don’t know what you’re doing.“ He added, "They will talk to you for hours hoping you say one thing they can TWIST and hype up for clicks." "Unfortunately, most podcasts have now DEVOLVED to this BS. Just saying,” the artist explained.

Last week, Ice-T got called out for opening up about raising his children on the podcast That Moment with Daymond John. He explained that he was much closer to his youngest daughter than his ever was with his other children, because he was in a more stable place in life when he had her. Ice-T then revealed that he wasn't around as much for his other two kids, calling himself "distracted" at the time. He also described how he was, “rippin’ and running,” adding that “It was presents over presence.” Slowing down later in life allowed him to be “so much more connected” to his 7-year-old daughter Chanel, he said.

The actor went on to describe being in “a cruise pattern," during Chanel's upbringing. This allowed him to be at the hospital when his wife was pregnant, and be around more for his daughter, which he called “a beautiful thing." He stated, "I think the difference with Chanel and my other kids is I'm very conscious of this baby." Adding that her birth "made [him] want to live forever. He revealed that Chanel "made [him] create new goals, calling her "the best gift [he] could ever get."

Ice-T received criticism for what he said during his appearance on the podcast. Users responded to his comments, claiming that it was unfair for the rapper to discuss the subject publicly. Many believed that although Ice-T claimed to have grown in his role as a father over the year, for his other children, it's likely difficult to hear their father discussing the topic. One user wrote, "Let’s normalize saying things that won’t have children from previous relationships feel slighted."
