The rapper faces up to three years in prison if convicted.

Lousiana rapper Boosie Badazz appeared in court yesterday, where he pleaded not guilty to a gun-related charge. The court hearing took place in San Diego, where the rapper caught the charge when filming a music video with Bully Three earlier this month. According to reports, he was taken to a San Diego County jail and hit with a total of four charges on May 6, 2023.

The charges include felony in possession of a firearm and concealed carry weapon in a vehicle. He was also charged for possession of ammunition by a prohibited person and unlisted owner of a registered firearm. Another person who was arrested alongside the rapper wasn't charged in relation to the incident. While playing a show in San Diego before appearing in court, Boosie sent a message to police, telling them, "Suck my dick." He also encouraged his audience to chant “f*ck San Diego police."

Boosie's Previous Run-In With The Law

Last month, N.O.R.E. gave props to Boosie along with T.I. for reconciling. He shared in a podcast, "I know that you could have went to war." Adding, "Y'all could have just done a whole bunch of tremendous crazy shit." He went on to commend the two artists for "[showing] that two Black men can get together and talk it out." Adding, "A disagreement doesn’t always lead to y’all fighting and shooting," and, "I’m so tired of violence."

The two rappers' beef started in 2020, when Dwayne Wade shared his support for his transgender daughter, and Boosie shared that he didn't agree with it on social media. He was quickly met with responses calling him transphobic. T.I. chimed in, and also called the rapper out. It's continued over the years with various social media back-and-forths and diss tracks. The most recent beef between the rappers began in February when Boosie called T.I. a "rat." In August of 2022, Boosie was pulled over by police when he began to film the incident. He said, “They got me pulled over again, so I’m finna perform a concert in front the police." After finding a small bag of weed in his vehicle the police let him go. He later apologized on social media, saying "I lost my cool this morning."
