He has set the record straight.

R&B singer Usher has confirmed that fans should not expect to see a sequel to his 2004 Confessions album. He told The Shade Room earlier this week that speculations of a follow-up are "just a rumor, at this point." He did, however, add "who knows? When we get there, we’ll see." He explained, "We got time. There’s space and opportunity to think of new ideas." Speaking on Confessions, he said "But the one that is 20 years old was a brilliant one."

The artist shared, "For every producer, writer, and creative that had anything to do with it, we celebrate 20 years of an album." He went on to discuss the longevity of the 2004 LP, saying, "most people don’t even have careers that last that long." Usher continued, "to have an actual album that has stood the test of time? I appreciate my fans for continuing to love the music.”

Nowadays, the performer has a successful residency in Las Vegas. His "My Way" residency has featured guests like Yung Miami, Queen Latifah, Kim Kardashian, and more. Over the weekend, Usher also received an honorary Doctorate degree from Berklee. He told graduates in an inspiring commencement speech to, "break the barriers" and "identify that spark in you that motivates you to keep going.” Usher told Scott Evans of Access Hollywood in April that he'd be interested in headlining the Super Bowl Halftime Show. Usher claimed he would "be a fool to say no" to the opportunity. He followed up, saying "you know, one day, that moment will happen."

Earlier this month, rumors began to circulate that Chris Brown and his crew jumped Usher at his birthday party. Reports claim that the fight occurred due to "disrespect" surrounding singer Teyana Taylor. A video later emerged, showing the two artists arguing at the birthday party. Despite the reported conflict, Usher went on to perform at his Lovers & Friends music festival. Despite reports that the singer was injured in the fight, he appeared to be uninjured during his performance. Brown also went on to perform at the festival, appearing unscathed as well and bringing out special guests like Tyga.
