Running high on the success of his two new albums Future and HNDRXX, Future shed light on his next move as an artist. In a cover interview with Billboard Magazine, the "Mask Off" rapper said he just wants to be himself and grow as artist. For this reason, he had to exit his relationship with Ciara.
"They had me going the cornball route," he said with a bitter laugh. "What the people don’t understand is, I been kicking it with superstars when it comes to females for a minute -- on the low-low with nobody don’t know-know."
Attempts to make him adapt to his relationship with Ciara included cutting back on codeine and weed. "I feel like everything happened for a reason. I'm happy with life now. I'm happy with life, period, even with the end of a relationship being...," Future said trailing off.
"I'm just not going to settle for anything, you know? Even in my life now, I know I can be a better person. I ain't giving up on myself, so if you give up on me, I ain't got nothing else to say for you. Because if you give up on something that's real, it wasn't real to you."
He says the lack of consideration from the Recording Industry doesn't bother him either. Despite his Summer Sixteen tour with Drake raking in more than $80 million in profit, he never even got a Grammy nomination.
"The Grammys, they get what they get -- the shit that they don't, it's the shit that they maybe don't want to understand," he said. "They're not going to keep me from doing what I'm supposed to do as an artist."
Yet, with all the success he's enjoyed over the last two years, can the Grammys still ignore Future?
