Kid Cudi has posted a new series of 70s-inspired selfies on Instagram. The rapper and actor looks dapper in the new photos, rocking a sky blue suit. It would make sense if Cudi's look in the pictures looks familiar to you. The selfies are, in fact, a throwback. In the caption of the Instagram post, Cudi explains that they are behind the scenes photos from the 2022 film X. The actor played a role in the film and produced it, as well. It revolves around a group of young adults in the 70s that rent a farmhouse to film an adult movie.
Throwback selfies aren't the only thing Kid Cudi has been posting recently. In fact, the rapper has some new music on the way, as well. Cudi teased fans for the last week or so. He posted a photo that showed his silhouette with the date June 2nd in the caption. The cryptic post had fans asking questions about what it could be. He then posted what appears to be a screenshot from a music video showing him crowd surfing and a behind the scenes shot in a makeup chair. Now, we know that Cudi will be dropping "The Chosen One" on June 2nd. Not much information is available beyond that, but the rapper confirmed the news with a pre-save link on his social media.
Kid Cudi, Actor
Kid Cudi’s burgeoning acting career just keeps on growing. The multi-hyphenate has been appearing in quite a few movies recently. This should come as no surprise to Cudi fans as he recently discussed wanting to put music on the back burner for a while. In an interview with Zane Lowe at Apple Music, he said, “I think, I want to be done with it. I think, closing the chapter on Kid Cudi.” Of course, just months later, the actor posted on Twitter about an apparent new album. “Ur not prepared man,” he said. “We’ve reached a new level.” So, while new music seems to be coming in the very near future, Kid Cudi is not letting up on acting in the meantime.
Kid Cudi is set to produce a new film titled Hell Naw under his production company, Mad Solar. Joining him as a producer is Sam Levinson, known for his work on the popular series "Euphoria." This collaboration marks their second time working together as producers, with their previous collaboration being on Ti West's film X, in which Cudi also had a role. Cudi expressed his excitement about the project, stating that himself, Sam Levinson, and the Lucas Brothers have crafted a story that will appeal to fans of horror and comedy. He promises that the film will deliver both laughter and a truly terrifying horror experience that will leave viewers shaken.
