The jury trial between Nicki Minaj and blogger Marley Green is drawing ever closer. Minaj is seeking $75,000 in damages for what the rapper claims are defamatory statements from Green about Minaj's purported use of narcotics. The lawsuit was originally filed in September 2022.
More specifically, Minaj's case claims that Green is behind the "noseyheauxlive" social media handle, which has previously claimed that Minaj has used cocaine in the past. Furthermore, the account has also referred to Minaj as a "coke head". Green's full statement allegedly reads, "“shoving all this cocaine, shoving in all this cocaine up her nose. Allegedly. Thank you. Allegedly. But we all know it’s true. “F*ck, listen, I can’t even say allegedly with that ’cause I—we all know it’s true. I’m not saying allegedly on that. Nicki Minaj is a cokehead.” Additionally, Green had also previously made statements about Minaj's son but has since apologized for those comments. However, she denies making defamatory statements about Minaj's use of drugs.
Minaj Anticiaptes Use Of Expert Witness
According to AllHipHop, Minaj will present an expert witness to testify on the negative impact of Green's social media posts. This also stems from claims by Minaj's attorney that Green has been acting as a "proxy" for one of Minaj's musical rivals. The nature and identity of this "expert witness" has not been made public at this time. There have been no reports of what Green's defense entails.
While Green has not officially made a statement about the lawsuit and impending trial, the noseyheauxlive Twitter account has. "Nicki Minaj is unhinged and harassing me on Instagram. She doxxed me and sent her barbz to threaten to kill me. She’s been commenting under my IG posts since like 24 hours ago. No one around her is smart enough to just take her phone," read a September 2022 post. While no trial date has been set as of yet, joint counsel conferences have estimated the trial will last three days. Any updates on Nicki Minaj's defamation case will be here on HotNewHipHop.
