Earlier this week, we received the massive single by Lil Durk, "Goofy" featuring Future and Jeezy. Well it clearly didn't take much time for them to take the song and put it into a video.
The video for "Goofy" had the director really putting an emphasis on Future's hook., Lil Durk and his homies are decked out top to bottom in all black suits, looking like the Mafia. Lil Durk spends his solo scenes flexing inside of a mansion decked with gold fixtures and a fancy chandelier before cutting to scenes with Future on the hook under some very dimly lit lights. The director incorporates elements of grit with some finer things in life throughout the video. Jeezy comes in for his second verse, hopping out of a nice car with Durk while posted up in a grimy alleyway. While Future and Jeezy aren't seen together throughout the video, Lil Durk makes appearances with both and finding appropriate settings to highlight their contributions.
Durk has undoubtedly been one of the most consistent rappers in terms of releasing music. This year alone, he dropped his mixtape Love Songs For The Streets and later in August, he dropped his collaboration project with Lil Reese, Supa Vultures. In between all of that, he's been flooding the streets with loosies and features. It was only last year that he dropped his second album. With the release of this song, he's picked up more momentum than he has already had in the past. Earlier in the summer, Young Thug, Future and Durk were spotted in the studio together. While it hasn't dropped yet, this might be a sign that he has another album or project on the way. Surely with the influx of music he's been putting out, it's likely that we'll be seeing this soon.
