In case you didn't already know, Shaq had a pretty impressive rap career alongside his NBA career. Yes, that's right, Shaq is a recording artist who made a ton of tracks throughout the 90s. Overall, the NBA legend is respected as an MC. We even outlined this in our deep dive on NBA rappers, called Rap Or Go To The League. Although the Big Aristotle has delved more into the EDM lane, it is clear that he still wants to make some rap songs whenever possible.
We know this because he just dropped a brand-new track with the likes of Blackway and Koko. This new track is called "King Talk," and it was made as a tribute to LeBron James and his scoring record. Although Shaq owned up to being jealous of the record, he had to pay homage. Moreover, upon listening to the song, you can tell this was made with motivation in mind. From the majestic production to Blackway and Shaq's aggressive flows, this is a solid offering.
Shaq Does His Thing On "King Talk"
“KoKo and I have been sending beats back and forth for a minute now and after he played me this one, I knew I had to jump on it," Shaq explained in a statement about the song. "I’ve been waiting for the perfect moment for a collab with Blackway and this was it. This is the type of record that gets me hyped like I’m walking out for game seven of the finals. The lyrics and vibe of this track [were] so perfect for the moment when LeBron James set the NBA scoring record and I knew I had to share it with the world — a king recognizes a king. It was crazy to see so many people connect with the song when they heard the teaser, just like I did when we created it."
