French Montana & Swae Lee currently have themselves one of the biggest songs of the Summer with “Unforgettable.” The song, which peaked at #9 on the Billboard charts & continues to slay the clubs & airwaves, is produced by Indianapolis production trio 1Mind (Sebastian Lopez, Mac Sutphin, and Michael Lohmeier) along with Toronto-based producer Jaegen and Cali-based CP DUBB.
Genius recently caught up with the Indy production trio in the studio & went behind the boards to examine how exactly the song came about and became a platinum smash for French’s Jungle Rules album.
Mac Sutphin says he created the beat after getting a DM from OVO Oliver about submitting tracks for Drake’s VIEWS album. When that didn’t pan out, CP DUBB sent the record to Swae Lee and finally ended up in French’s hands.
See how the beat was made & more in the latest episode of Genius’ “Deconstructed” series (below). While you’re at it, read out review of Jungle Rules right here.
