The Nike Kobe 4 Protro is dropping in a new colorway today.

One of the best Kobe Bryant retros has been the Nike Kobe 4 Protro. Overall, this is a fantastic shoe that a lot of fans adore. Although it was shelved for a bit once Nike lost the rights to the Kobe line. However, Nike and Vanessa Bryant are back to working with one another, which has led to some great sneakers. The Kobe 4 Protro is also back on the docket, which has been great news for all of the sneakerheads out there. New colorways are being shown off, and fans are stoked about it.

For instance, the latest Nike Kobe 4 Protro will be an homage to Gigi Bryant. Gianna Bryant passed away alongside her father back in 2020. Overall, it was one of the biggest tragedies in the history of sports. She was poised to become an amazing basketball player. Moreover, you could tell just how proud Kobe was of Gigi and who she was becoming as a person. Now, her legacy will live on in various different ways. Included in this is the following sneaker, simply called "Mambacita."

As you can see, this is a very basic model in terms of the colors at play here. However, this is because Nike wanted to keep it simple on theme with Mamba Academy. Firstly, the sneaker is covered in white materials on the upper. Secondly, we get some black on the midsole, laces, and even the Nike swoosh. From there, the back heel has a couple of references to Gigi. For instance, "Gigi" is written on each heel. Lastly, a gold number 2 is placed right beneath it. Overall, this comes together to create a very classy tribute.

If you are a fan of this shoe, you will be happy to know that it drops today, May 1st, for $180 USD. Nike.com and SNKRS will be carrying these, and the proceeds will go to the Mamba & Mambacita Sports Foundation. Let us know your thoughts on this shoe, in the comments section down below.
