Coachella is done and dusted for another year, but the iconic performances given are still sitting fresh in the minds of fans. Among those who impressed festival goers two weekends in a row this year is Latto. During her first appearance on the stage, she previewed a new song featuring a diss seemingly aimed at Nicki Minaj. The following Friday (April 21), "Put It On Da Floor" arrived on streamers, earning the 777 Radio host plenty of love from her fans. Unfortunately, the Queen of Rap's own followers – known as The Barbz – have taken far less kindly to Latto's antics.
Earlier this week, the "Lottery" artist revealed that a close friend of hers named Monta suddenly passed away. Latto and the late man have been in each other's life since childhood. "You broke my heart n*gga," she wrote in the caption of her Instagram tribute post, which includes their grade five class photo and a select few other heartfelt memories. Over on Twitter, the 24-year-old continued to mourn, this time writing, "I'LL NEVER MONTA!!!! WHY U DO THIS TO ME 💔💔💔💔💔."

As expected many of Latto's followers sent love in her time of need. Others, however, (many of them Barbz) saw this as the perfect opportunity to kick the rap diva while she's down. "Hopefully your music career next," one hate comment under her post reads. Another says, "I think I speak for everyone when I say we don't care 💔💔💔💔💔." Elsewhere, an even more concerning reply hints at doing voodoo in hopes of attracting negativity into the Ohio-born artist's life.
Thankfully, she's certainly feeling the love after seeing how many are standing up for her at this time. "This girl could be posting about a BLM movement or standing up for hate crimes and these people always find a way to be rude," one of them pointed out.
