This past week at SXSW, Fader Fort had performances from both Lil Yachty and Playboi Carti, resulting in a surprise appearance from A$AP Rocky. It was equally eventful backstage at the Dream Hotels artist lounge, where a meeting of the minds went down, when Yachty and Carti linked up to interview each other.
In the brief discussion, the two Atlanta natives reminisce about the first time they met, while Lil Boat asks the hard questions, like what's up with that Playboi Carti mixtape???
"Producer problems," Carti replies, "I wanted to stick to one sound, but that one sound wanted to give the sound to everybody. So I had to hold off until I find that n*gga that's gunna sit there and be on Carti's sound, and just young Carti's sound only." "I wanna be on my Gucci, Zaytoven shit, that's how I wanna be with my producers."
It seems that issue has been sorted as Carti has been teasing the mixtape as of late. Stay tuned.
