James Corden shared one last car ride with Adele.

James Corden is a television host that you either love or hate. Regardless, you cannot deny that he has been immensely successful. He has helmed The Late Late Show since 2015, turning into a cultural behemoth with segments such as "Carpool Karaoke" and "Spill Your Guts". He was also one of the first late-night shows to find success posting content to YouTube, following in the vein of Jimmy Fallon on The Tonight Show. The Late Late Show YouTube channel has had over 10 billion views and has over 27 million subscribers.

However, in 2022, it was announced that Corden would be leaving The Late Late Show in 2023. Furthermore, the show would not be finding a new host and instead, end its current run. The final edition of the show is scheduled to air at 12:30am EDT on April 27. That meant that show's final week was expected to be the one that started to wrap things up, so that the final show could be a blowout finale.

Adele And Corden Swap Stories And Shed Tears

Carpool Karaoke has been a staple of the show for many years. Corden, or sometimes a special guest, drives around alongside a musical guest and belts out some tunes. There have been many, many famous faces in the segment over the years. However, British singer Adele is perhaps the most memorable appearance. She was the first guest on the segment and her appearance has since racked up 216 million views on YouTube.

Fittingly, Adele reunited with Corden for the segment's last appearance on April 24. In a 21-minute segment on the show, the two joke about and share stories as they "drive James to work." They also reflect on James' legacy and experience with The Late Late Show before breaking out into song, as the tradition. Tears are shed and laughs shared as Corden and Adele share in the last edition of the segment they helped kickstart. It's unknown what Corden's next move will be. However, The Late Late Show will be replaced with a reboot of the panel show @midnight. The @midnight reboot is being produced by Funny or Die and Stephen Colbert. Are you sad about James Corden leaving?
