Shannon Sharpe and Skip Bayless discussed the upcoming NFL Draft on Wednesday's edition of Undisputed. The two hosts discussed what the Carolina Panthers should do with the number one pick. It is no secret that the Panthers will be selecting a quarterback. However, the name of the quarterback has been the biggest question mark around the media. Panthers head coach Frank Reich claims the team has already decided on who will be their pick. However, for Sharpe, he believes the choice is simple.
The discussion of the number one pick has seemingly come down to Bryce Young and Will Levis. Levis' name got some traction yesterday after sportsbooks moved the odds of Levis going in the top 2 to a very favorable bet. But Sharpe isn't buying the Levis hype. The former NFL tight end believes the Panthers will take Young with the pick. “Will Levis might turn out to be a great QB, but I’m not taking him over Bryce Young. Sorry.” Check out the full clip of Sharpe's comments below.
Shannon Sharpe High On Bryce Young
Sharpe is absolutely right when mentioning that Young is a proven winner. The former Alabama star is a Heisman winner, and SEC champion. Young has proven that he can perform on the big stage. On the other hand, Levis led a middle of the SEC Kentucky team in his two years as a starter. However, scouts have been dazzled by the arm strength Levis has displayed on the road to the draft. This time of year, scouts can often get confused by what they see from a pre-draft workout. Rather than the in-game production of a player.
The NFL Draft is always can't miss television. The spectacle is more than just seeing which players will join your favorite franchise.
