Draymond Green has long been known for sharing his true emotions. That statement is not more evident than Green's latest actions in the series with the Sacramento Kings. Green was suspended for Game 3 of the series after stomping Domantas Sabonis. However, the Warriors found a way to win Game 3, as well as Game 4 against the Kings. But the ending of Game 4 almost went the other way. Kings forward Harrison Barnes just missed the game-winner. A shot that would have felt amazing for the former Golden State Warrior.
Barnes was a part of the Warriors franchise during their 2015 championship run. However, a few short years later, Barnes was shipped out of Golden State so the team could add Kevin Durant to the roster. Of course, no player likes the idea of being traded because you are not good enough. However, Green still feels like Barnes holds that grudge against him. In a recent episode of The Draymond Green Show, Green sat down with Damian Lillard to discuss the issue with Barnes.
Draymond Green Breaks Down Beef With Harrison Barnes
Green believes the sole reason behind Barnes' beef with him is the Warriors adding Durant. In the clip, Green thinks Barnes wasn't ready to accept a bench role with the team. Green even mentioned that Barnes invited a few former teammates to his wedding. However, Green's invite must have gotten lost in the mail. Durant's addition to the Warriors created one of the most dominant teams in NBA history. Without the injuries the Warriors had to deal with in 2019, the team would have won three straight championships.
Obviously, the move to add Durant made sense. Any team would be jumping at the idea to add such a talented star to their roster. However, Barnes may never be over the situation. But, the former Warriors star could end the decade reign of dominance for his former team. The Kings and Warriors are currently tied at two games a piece in their series.
