Jaykwon Walton has been dismissed from the Alabama Crimson Tide basketball program. Over the weekend, Walton was arrested for possession of Marijuana. According to TMZ, officers claimed to have found "a rolling tray, a baggie containing approximately 20 grams of marijuana, and a half-rolled blunt in the passenger side floorboard." The incident has all but ended Walton's college basketball career. However, Alabama couldn't let the situation grow into something larger.
The Crimson Tide have been in the news all season with the arrests of Brandon Miller and Darius Miles from earlier this season. Miles had been charged with murder, as Miller was taken in for connection to the murder. However, Miller was later released and allowed to return to the team. The handling of the situation from head coach Nate Oats received a lot of backlash from those who believed that Miller shouldn't have been allowed to return to the team. However, Oats claimed that Miller's situation was just a case of "wrong place, wrong time."
