Lil Durk's choices were mostly contemporary.

Lil Durk is currently one of the biggest stars in the rap world. Although he isn't experiencing fame on a mainstream level like Kendrick Lamar or J. Cole, everyone in hip-hop knows who he is. Overall, he has received a ton of massive co-signs. This has subsequently led to features on some pretty massive albums. Moreover, he is able to secure big features for his own projects. Needless to say, Durk is experiencing some impressive success, and he is showing zero signs of slowing down.

Even now, Lil Durk is still working on new music. He has an album on the horizon, and fans are eager to listen in. In fact, XXL recently sat down with Durk as part of their Spring 2023 cover story. They got to meet with the artist in his studio back in March, and it led to a very lengthy conversation. Throughout this interview, Durk got to speak on a plethora of topics. One of these topics was his favorite artists and who he is inspired the most by. As you will see, he gave some interesting answers.

"My top five right now is Baby, Future, Drake, King Von and Chief Wuk," Lil Durk said. Among these artists, all five of these are his contemporaries. Moreover, they are all artists he has worked with in the past. However, you cannot fault him for giving these kinds of answers. Additionally, King Von and Chief Wuk are two artists that Durk worked a lot with. That said, it only makes sense that he would want to show love here.

If you thought he was going to say Jay-Z, 2Pac, and Biggie, well, you were lying to yourself from the start. Either way, it is clear that Lil Durk has great taste, and likes to work with those whom he actually listens to. Let us know what you think of Durk and his picks, in the comments section below.
