Buzzing New York rapper A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie received a pretty big endorsement this summer when he was selected to open for Drake at MSG. In an interview with Rap-Up A Boogie detailed the phone call he received from the rap star, as well as promising some new music from the two.
"I was driving one day and he hit me up like, 'Yo what's up, it's Drake,' A few days later I Facetimed him to make sure it was really him and all that," he recalled. "After a while we were texting, talking about music, and he was telling me he liked all my songs. We met up in a few more days in MSG. He hit me up the day before MSG like, 'What's up, you trying to perform?' So of course I say yeah. I wasn't really all the way prepared because I had 8-hour notice.
It seems like the two kept in touch following the performance, as A Boogie revealed that he and Drake will release a collaboration in the near future. "Yeah, you'll see a collaboration if not the end of this year, next year for sure," he said, though shared no details on the record. Could it land on Drizzy's impending More Life project, set for an early 2017 release?
A Boogie is also planning to release a mixtape with Zaytoven in the new year titled Artoven (his real name is Artist). The project will feature Young Scooter and Lil Bibby.
