Back in 1990, Nike came out with the Air Jordan 5. Overall, this was the third Air Jordan silhouette designed by the legendary Tinker Hatfield. It is one of those models that still gets a ton of love today, and that will likely never change. Although it isn't the most popular offering from the 90s, it is definitely a game-changer. With those shark teeth on the midsole and the 3M tongue, these are simply legendary. Moreover, their pop culture relevance also helped propel this shoe to Hall of Fame status.
Throughout 2023, this shoe has gotten its fair share of teasers for new colorways. However, there certainly isn't as much hype around this silhouette as there was in 2020. Ultimately, this makes sense as the shoe was once celebrating its 30th anniversary. Now, it is just any old year for this silhouette, and Jordan Brand is giving it a moderate yet sufficient amount of love. Thankfully, this year will bring forth the return of the Air Jordan 5 "Burgundy," which came out back in 2006. Teasers continue to hit the internet, and fans are more than excited.
