Lil Wayne is serving fans hit records on the Welcome To Tha Carter tour. The iconic rapper has embarked on a North American tour which found him digging into his catalog and delivering classic records from his catalog. Instead of stadiums and arenas, Lil Wayne is performing across smaller, more intimate venues. For any day-one Lil Wayne fan, the Welcome To Tha Carter tour is a must-see, especially since he’s been bringing out some impeccable guests in certain cities.
Lil Wayne kicked off the tour in Minneapolis on April 4th and hit up cities like Chicago, Detroit, Toronto, and Boston. On Sunday night, the rapper returned to New York City where he performed at the iconic Apollo Theater. However, it was only right that he tapped in with Harlem’s hometown heroes while he was there. The rapper brought out Cam’ron on stage where they performed “Suck It Or Not (Touch It Or Not)” off of Killa Season for the first time ever.
Lil Wayne & Cam’ron Reunite
As the two came through with an excellent performance of their collaboration, Cam’ron made sure to show his appreciation and gratitude for Wayne. “Weezy, I love you, boy. It’s the first time we ever performed this song, my n***a. Appreciate you, my n***a. You know I always f*ck with you, n***a,” he said before leaving the stage. It was a special moment for Harlem, a place where Jim Jones claimed Lil Wayne picked up a lot of his swag during the mid-2000s.
Just a week prior, Lil Wayne brought out Drake in Toronto. However, not only did Drake emerge on stage to perform a few songs with his mentor, but he also came through as the surprise opening act. The host of the evening announced Drizzy as a “local artist” before he emerged onto the stage and breezed through his hit records. Wayne hasn’t even ran through half of the dates of his tour yet so we could imagine that he has a few other special guests up his sleeve for the remainder of his North American run.
