Will it finally be time for Chris Paul to hoist the Larry O'Brien Trophy?

Chris Paul's career resume already has the Phoenix guard among the greats in league history. Undoubtedly, Paul will join the greats in the Basketball Hall of Fame. However, the future Hall-of-Famer is missing one massive accolade. Paul has yet to become an NBA champion. An accolade that has long been on the veteran guard's mind. However, this season may be Paul's best chance at hosting the Larry O'Brien Championship Trophy. Paul recently discussed what winning the championship would mean to him.

Paul recently spoke with Mark Medina of the Sportsnaut on the chances of a championship run. “I appreciate it. No one wants it more than I do,” Paul stated when discussing Damian Lillard's comments on wanting to see Paul win a ring. As it currently stands, Paul is one of the greatest NBA players to never win a ring. A group that no superstar player wants to be a part of. But Paul realizes his chances of catching that elusive ring are dwindling. Especially with his recent luck of attempting to stay healthy.

Chris Paul Preparing For Potential Finals Run

The physical and mental work that goes into an NBA season can be exhausting. Many of the current playoff teams have dealt with the injury bug. The Suns are no exception. However, Paul and his team are not using that as an excuse. Injuries are a part of the game. Even without all the injuries, this team can still make it all the way to the NBA Finals. Paul has been on many great teams. However, the talent on this Suns roster may be the best in the entire league.

The Suns will open the 2023 playoffs with a strong matchup with the Los Angeles Clippers. The Clippers are a team full of stars, just like the Suns. But the Clippers will more than likely be without Paul George for the duration of the series. The Western Conference looks to be anyones for the taking. Has the time finally come for Chris Paul to become an NBA champion? If not the Suns, who are your favorites to win it all? Please give us your opinions in the comment section.
