While he's already released two full length projects in 2017, Kodak Black continues to release new standalone tracks on YouTube. His latest, "I N U," also comes complete with a video. Featuring a soulful, guitar-driven instrumental that recalls Ludacris and Scarface's 2001 collaboration "Growing Pains," Kodak opts for one long stream-of-consciousness verse. "My n---a in prison goin' crazy, keep on askin' me 'bout his lady / I ain't finna be out here watchin' her page / I ain't finna be out here stalkin' yo lady / And my brother 'bout to have a baby / 'Bout to be a uncle and I'm a baby / Paranoid, I'm livin' dangerous / Paranoid, I'm overthinkin' / Wrap the car up just to spray it / Put it up then candy paint it / I'm a baby with a baby," he raps, reflecting on the big responsibilities he has as a young man.
Kodak recently remixed Cardi B's "Bodak Yellow," a song that was originally inspired by his own "No Flockin" flow. The following week, "Bodak Yellow' made history by hitting No. 1 on the Hot 100. It is now only the second female solo rap single to top the charts, the first being Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)."
His lyrics were also a source of controversy this month when a teacher was suspended for assigning a homework assignment on the rapper's "Drowning" collaboration with A Boogie Wit Da Hoodie. "The assignment was inappropriate, unacceptable and contrary to our standards. The employee responsible has been removed from the classroom and will be held accountable for such poor judgment," read a statement from the school. "While we encourage teacher creativity, the expectation is that the instruction is always standards-based and age appropriate."

Quotable Lyrics:
I don't even feel like n---a
Tellin' ya kids to stay in school
'Cause I always did the opposite
N---a I ain't stay in school
Maybe if they told me not to go
I probably would've stayed in school
Codeine and orange soda, that's my formula
I want baby food
I don't eat baby food, I don't eat baby food
