Whether you’ve realized it or not, PartyNextDoor has been having himself quite the year in 2017. From releasing his Colours 2 EP back in June to dropping off countless songs & features over the past few months, the OVO crooner has been giving fans plenty of new music to keep their playlists preoccupied with, and thankfully he’s not slowing down anytime soon either. Back in August, OVO confirmed that PND was working on a new album called Club Atlantis, which should be coming out before the year’s end, but before we’re treated to that PND had a little appetizer to share with us ahead of time called Seven Days EP, which he recorded over the past 7 days & features guest appearances from Rick Ross & Halsey.
Looking to highlight one of the records, here goes the track “Never Played Me,” which happens to be one of my early favorites off the EP. Going in over the wavvy production from Cardiak & Dez Wright, PND leaves the hardcore singing alone with this one and shows off his various flows & delivery, rapping about a bad bitch who amazed him in the past and “never played him.” Highlighted by its bouncy production & Party’s singing-raps, “Never Played Me” is another strong addition to the Toronto crooner’s steady growing catalogue of hits, and all the more reason to look forward to his Club Atlantis project.
Available on iTunes, take a listen to the standout cut and let us know what you think. If you wish to see Party live in person you're in luck, the OVO crooner is taking his talents on the road with Halsey, who appears on the track “Damage,” for the "Hopeless Fountain Kingdom" Tour. Peep tour dates right here if interested.
Quotable Lyrics:
Let you leave the house with the credit card
And you only swipe what you need 'cause you got what you need
Never really stop in the purse aisle
'Cause you know I'm ballin' like the league
And you got your own key, yeah
Let me drop you off in the P.O. hopin' they see me
S in your VVs, only snake is GG
All it's a long time since I've done seen you
In that dress, I wanna take it off
In that dress, I seen enough to be impressed
