LeBron James is ready for the Lakers to take the next step.

LeBron James knows what it takes to win an NBA Championship. The four-time NBA Champion is starting to notice his Los Angeles Lakers are coming together. On Sunday, the Lakers defeated a lowly Rockets team 134-109. With the win, The Lakers now sit one game outside of the Western Conference sixth seed. Which is a huge opportunity to avoid the play-in tournament. However, a sixth-seed berth would have the Lakers playing the Sacramento Kings in the first round.

With the bottom of the Western Conference being a tight race, losing is not an option. As the final week of the regular season is here, the Lakers know what is at stake. Looking ahead to see a potential playoff opponent is irrelevant if you're not in the playoffs. James' teammate Anthony Davis also understands this. Davis had a monster performance on Sunday. The former number-one overall pick dropped 40 points in the Lakers' dominating victory over the Rockets. Davis' performance was exactly what LeBron was hoping to see.

LeBron James Has Eyes On Fifth Ring

When healthy, Davis and James can rival any other duo in the league. The only problem this season is they both can't seem to stay healthy. LeBron knows the potential of the duo and understands the stakes at hand. After Sunday's game, LeBron spoke with the media about what Davis's performance means for the future of the team. “We want to be on the floor together and make magic…He’s definitely making magic right now for sure,” James stated. The Lakers have all those tools to be a tough matchup for anyone in the Western Conference.

No one seems to be counting out what the Lakers can do in the post-season. Seemingly for good reason. James is one of the greatest players to ever step on an NBA court. Davis isn't too shabby himself. The pair have won an NBA Championship together already, during the 2020 season. They know that it can be done. However, the road to get there isn't the road most travel to winning a title. Can the Lakers win their second title in the LeBron era?
