Rudy Gobert wasn't holding back with his latest comments on the NBA. The Minnesota Timberwolves big man isn't afraid to let anyone know what he believes the NBA is doing. The Timberwolves are one of the many teams fighting for their playoff lives. The NBA Western Conference is stacked with talent as Minnesota tries to navigate through it. After the Timberwolves' loss to the Suns on Wednesday, Gobert let his frustrations out on the officiating.
The Timberwolves beat writer from the Star Tribune, Chris Hine, grabbed a surefire quote from Rudy Gobert. "It’s bullshit. It’s bullshit. It’s not fair. It’s really not fair. Every night. I’ve been in this league for 10 years and I try to always give the benefit of the doubt, but it’s hard for me to think they’re not trying to help [the Suns] win [last night]," Gobert said. "It’s hard for me to think they didn’t try to help the Warriors win the other night or Sacramento Kings the other night. It’s just so obvious. As a basketball player that’s been in this league for so long, it’s disrespectful.”
Rudy Gobert Doesn't Hold Back His Feelings On Officiating
Gobert claims that the NBA is fixing games for certain teams to win. He believes the league would rather see the Suns, Warriors, and Kings in the playoffs than his Timberwolves. Speaking of those teams, they have been the last three opponents for Minnesota. The Timberwolves went 2-1 over said teams. With victories over the Warriors and Kings. It seems like it wasn't the right time to claim the league is fixing games. Since the team did earn two victories over teams that were brought up in Gobert's frustrations.
The NBA is no stranger to rumors of fixed games. This is the same league that had to ban an official for betting on games. So the claim of fixing games may not be too far-fetched for some. Where do you stand on Gobert's comments? Does Rudy Gobert have a case? Or was he just venting his frustrations after a tough loss? Drop your opinions in the comment section below.
